Events and Marketing Assistant


This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy media office in a fast-growing area. You’ll be working alongside the in-house team to help deliver high profile events, marketing campaigns and to support advertising teams. This role offers a breadth of experience and insight into a number of media platforms including magazines, websites and events.

Events work ranges from Awards (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, foodie mag Crumbs and Creative Bath) to client evenings in our cities through to the mighty Bath Boules.


MediaClash is a Bath-based publisher, event organiser and digital & publishing agency. This role is working in its events and marketing team to assist in delivering flagship events. There will also be some tasks to support a busy advertising sales floor.

This role will involve the following responsibilities:

  • Social media management of brand accounts on Twitter and Instagram, writing posts and growing followers, reporting on results
  • Marketing e-mail newsletters – writing emails and reporting on results
  • Helping at events – signing guests in and supporting the Events Manager
  • Organise elements of events such as attendee lists, photographer bookings, setting up ticket booking process, collating paperwork and booking venues
  • Writing or amending collateral such as letters, website copy, programme text
  • Updating website information
  • Organising nominations for our Awards, reporting to the teams about nominations, and printing and collating nominations
  • Handling magazine subscriptions – maintaining current ones by replying to any emails, updating spreadsheets when new subscriptions come through, packaging any subscriptions, promoting through advertising and social media, organising offers
  • Supporting sales team – updating distribution lists, sending out magazines, invoicing, and creating email lists
  • Updating email databases


  • Strong communication skills – verbal, written
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail
  • Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • InDesign and Photoshop experience would also be beneficial
  • Social media experience and knowledge
  • Full driving licence preferably

Working hours

  • Week days 9am – 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch
  • Some evening and weekend work required

Advert Designer & Production Coordinator

As advert designer and production coordinator you will be responsible for the advert design and production on a number of our city-based magazines. Your role will involve advert setting, proofing, page layout, liaising with advertisers and working closely with our sales teams.

You will be highly organised and able to work to multiple deadlines in an efficient manner. Other duties will include checking the flatplans and liaising with the printers on a daily basis. Along with being creative and having a keen eye for detail you will be vigilant at keeping an organized database. You will be used to dealing with high volumes of work and capable of working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

You will have worked in a similar role and must be trained in InDesign and Photoshop.

As with many small companies you may at times be called upon to carry out other duties within your department.
