Project Overview
ALTANA Pharma is a world renowned, research-led pharmaceutical company, part of the Nycomed Group. Their gastrointestinal drug Pantoprazole is one of the most successful prescription drugs ever developed in a German research laboratory with Global sales of EUR 2.5 billion (2004).
Traditionally, distributors and licensees are supplied with 500 page training manuals; translated and printed by the company in one country and shipped round the world – time consuming, expensive and not entirely environmentally sound! We wanted to save ALTANA Pharma money and resources.
Easy? Yes...with a bit of thinking and a good deal of ‘teching’!
We decided to:
- Use CD-ROM as the new delivery method for cost effectiveness
- Build an easy to use interface coupled with powerful functionality
- Introduce a comprehensive search tool, interactive glossary and referencing facility – all that a busy sales rep could dream of
- Integrate a language editing suite so that the translation could be done at local level rather than by ALTANA HQ
The CD-ROM now in use by 100’s of people in over 90 countries and with all translation and distribution handled at local level ALTANA Pharma is saving money and time, all the time, yes even right now!
