For our next Bath Life Network Lunch, we will be joined by Andrew Gordon-Brown, headmaster and Principal of the foundation of Kingswood School.
Kingswood School has a strong community spirit, and personal development mentality towards its students, all supported by a beautiful campus and strong STEM/arts offerings.
Running an independent school comes with its own set of challenges including a mix of rising costs, shifting expectations and the much-debated inclusion of VAT on school fees. This raises timely questions about how schools remain financially resilient while strengthening their civic connection and contributing meaningfully to city life beyond the school gates.
Prior to his career switch to education, Andrew enjoyed a 12 year career in banking and finance, as well as rowing for South Africa at the 1992 Olympics and for Oxford in the 1994 Boat Race. This has allowed him to bring life lessons from a variety of experiences to his teaching career, including the importance of working as a team. Andrew is particularly committed to empowering others to be the best they can.
This first lunch of the year will be hosted at Emberwood. Join us and 60 leading Bath business people from 12pm, with lunch at 12.30 and the conversation from 1.30pm.
This is a networking event, where you will have the opportunity to switch seats half way through the 2-course lunch.
